What makes SunTek different from other film suppliers?

SunTek is a middle man free operation. This means that we offer the professional tinter our window films factory direct and therefore at a much better price. Our Australian office is owned and operated by the factory in Virginia USA.

What type of window film does SunTek have?

Suntek offers a full range of solar, safety and security window films. We have a popular automotive window film range, with our Carbon series being the unchallenged favourite. We do several things to ensure the long-term stability of our new products: 1. When creating new products, whenever possible, we use raw materials and coatings that are tried and proven. How long has SunTek had Residential/Commercial products?

Our Residential/Commercial product line has been available for the entire history of the company, we just had a limited product offering. Our product line started with Symphony, Infinity and Silver. Since that time, we have added two new product lines, Ultra-Vision and DRDS, as well as several Specialty films.

Do SunTek window films carry any warranty?

How thick are SunTek Residential/Commercial films?

All SunTek Residential/Commercial films are 2-ply and 1.5-mils thick. The only exception to this is the 4 and 6-mil Anti-Graffiti films and the Safety & Security films.

What does “dual-reflective” mean?

A dual-reflective window film is a product that has less reflectivity on one side, normally the interior.

What does spectrally selective mean?

There are three bands that make up the solar spectrum: the ultraviolet (UV) band, the visible (VIS) band and the infra red (IR) band. You cannot see or feel UV energy. You can see but cannot feel visible light. Lastly, IR is the heat that you feel, but cannot see. If something is “spectrally selective” it is designed to “selectively” .....

What is a Spectrally Selective window film?

In the case of window films, the term spectrally selective refers to a product that blocks a significant amount of IR energy, without blocking or reflecting visible light. Therefore, spectrally selective products (like Ultra-Vision) have a high VLT, low interior and exterior reflectivity, and good solar performance.

Is ULV made from sputtered metal or vapor coated metal?

Both the metal and the coating used in the ULV product line are proprietary. ULV is a metal-polymer complex and is not sputtered.

What is the difference between sputtering and vapor coating?

Sputtering and vapor coating (also known as metalizing or vacuum metalizing) are two different processes for manufacturing metal raw materials. One is not better than the other. Sputtered films do not last longer than vapor coated films, and vice versa. As far as window films, vapor coating is actually the preferred method. What is the appearance of SYDS?

SYDS is a neutral film. The product is bluish-grey in color. From the exterior, SYDS looks silver and reflective (especially in the darker VLT’s). From the interior, SYDS looks neutral, blue-grey, and is very crisp.
